Today was so ...
Today was so awesome. So, this morning Ian and I sat around and watched Harry Potter, Power Rangers, the televangelist channel, Full House, Surreal Life... well, pretty much everything to laugh at (except Harry Potter!) 'cos we were bored and Dave was sleeping. Around 1 PM I woke up Dave by pouring water all over him. Awesome. So then we went to Chipotle for lunch, and then went searching around the neighborhood to find Ian his Magnum PI outfit. We found everything but the velcro shoes, which was disappointing. BUT the shorts ended up not fitting anyway, so he couldn't have worn the entire outfit in the first place. But, he wore the top part of the outfit to the concert, and it was hilarious.HOTT.So, anyway, so we all decided to dress up goofy. I wore a Star Trek t-shirt and houndstooth pants, and Dave wore that crazy t-shirt I made him and plaid pants. We're the awesomest people. So we go over to the Metro and meet up with Sarah. It was funny, as we were walking in, we could hear every single person we passed comment on Dave's shirt. It was a hit!So, first Caviar played, with Scott from Local H. It was alright... not terribly exciting. Second was Kill Hannah. I haven't seen them play live in two and a half years now, and so it was weird (considering before then I used to see them play, like, every week... I've seen them like 13 times now). I didn't even recognize any of the songs except Kennedy, considering I never bought their new album. Weird. Then came the Nick Tremulis band, which oddly enough I don't really remember. Then Billy came on. He only sang three songs! The first one was new... um.. the chorus was something like, "you waaaaaait, you haaaaaaate love, and all it represents". (um, I could have that wrong). The second song he SAID he played on 4/19 and messed up, but I don't remember him playing it and it wasn't "For Your Love". Hmm... I'll have to sort this out later. The third song he played was by the Bee Gees ("To Love Somebody").*EDIT* I forgot to mention that Yelena was there. Billy mentioned she was there and then Dave pointed her out in the left balcony. */EDIT*Right after that Dave and Sarah decided to go downstairs to smoke. And who do they run into but Billy himself! Dave got Billy to sign his t-shirt. Tooooo hilarious. He probably has a better account of it in his livejournal oldwarpilot, but I'm not sure 'cos I haven't read it yet.Anyway, here's the Billy autograph on the shirt I made him!!:It was the first time Dave had ever met Billy, and he was freaking out and it was cute. Especially since just about half an hour earlier we were talking about all of us (Ian, Sarah, and I) have met him and Dave hasn't.Sarah happened to have my ticket stub on her, so she got it autographed for me! How sweet! Now I have three Billy autographs. So the next band was Giant Step(?), tho I didn't really get to pay attention to them because I was listening to Dave tell the story of meeting Billy. Then Scott Lucas came out and played with them... they played Copacetic (did I spell that right?!). It was too awesome. Joe Shanahan himself also came out and sang a song with them. Apparently it's the first time he's ever sang onstage at the Metro in the gadzillion years that he has owned it. It was really neat. Then RICK NIELSEN came out and played with them (Giant Step as well as Scott). They played Surrender and I Want You To Want Me! I flipped out! RICK. NIELSEN.He also had his son onstage playing, as well. Then after a short break Rick and his son came out again to play an acoustic song, and Billy came and PLAYED DRUMS! It was just a simple drum beat, but it was too awesome. Then David James and his wife came out to thank everyone. It was really sweet. I didn't realize that I knew who David James was. I see him around the Metro all the time. He has the same kind of cancer my mom had. And then after that everyone that played over the course of the night came out and did a song together. I didn't recognize the song, but it could be some well-known song that I just don't know. *EDIT* I just read that the song is called "Heaven Tonight" */EDIT* Billy sang. The guys from Kill Hannah had maracas, and I found that amusing. After that we walked over to Clarke's for dinner. Fun times. I had chicken strips. Dave and Ian played the "let's dip random food items in the honey mustard sauce" game, which included waffles and pickle. It was pretty funny. Then we came back to my apartment and hung out here for ten minutes, then I walked Ian and Sarah back to Ian's car. He had parked it in a garage, and he totally should've been charged $40, according to the garage's parking standards. But the parking garage guy accidentally only counted from the time instead of the date, so he only had to pay $16! There were these drunk girls that were stuck in the garage because the guy had lost their car keys, and they were totally hitting on Ian and it was too hilarious for life. They made him play guitar and stuff... so he was sitting there playing in the middle of the garage. Then I came back and then walked Dave to the car, and now I'm back and updating LJ and getting caught up on everything. Here's some more random pictures: Ian, being goofyCute picture of SarahIan's attempt to look sexyDave hanging out on my couchI took pictures with a disposable camera too... but I'm planning on using the camera for the Rilo Kiley concerts as well as the road trip, so I won't have them developed for another two weeks (I also have pics from the Auf Der Maur concert on Friday night on that roll as well).*EDIT*!!!!Billy talked about the concert on the Wrigleyville Report this morning. You can listen to it here

My favorite is, "There's no hope with dope."<3stephanie

Haha, all he really said about the concert was that he didn't play anything that's going to be on the new album 'cos he doesn't trust internet traders. He also said that he finished his album.<3stephanie
ah cool cool XD
Hi Stephanie,Sorry this is about another subject altogether! I read your post in the medtranscript LJ community, and was wondering if you had started your schooling with M-TEC. I want to get going on my schooling, and had also chosen them, but it would be great if I could actually talk with someone who is already one of their students to get an opinion on them and if you like it so far. You mention that you are going on a road trip vacation. Is it possible to take time off when you are doing the schooling, and how does that work? Hope you have a fun!Thanks,little_liesel
Yep, I'm started with M-TEC. Unfortunately, I've been falling a bit behind, because I'm also in college for something completely different, have a different job, and attempt at some sort of social life. But the great thing about MTEC is that you can work at entirely your own pace (well, within limits.... I believe you're supposed to have the whole thing done within 18 months, which is way more than you really need, in my opinion). But anyway, if you need to take a month or so off for a family emergency, vacation, whatever the hell you want... it really shouldn't be a problem. Plus, you have both bookwork and computerwork to do, so if you grab a book and take it with you wherever you go and work on it in your spare time, it goes a lot faster.I really like MTEC! You can call your instructor anytime you have any problems, and the website is REALLY helpful as well. Plus I hear that when you graduate, it's relatively easy to find a job with this background. So, if you decide to go with MTEC, feel free to be-LJ-friend me and we can be MTEC buddies. How very exciting. ;)<3stephanie
Wow -sounds like your plate is full! What are you in college for? I will probably go with M-TEC. I heard from some people that pcdi was good, but then on another post someone else said that they met people that went with pcdi and they were incompetent in many areas that are essential, like the terminology, punctuation, grammar, etc. So I just want to be sure that I make the right decision, because a lot is riding on that. I am divorced and will receive alimony for 2 years, so I have to make sure that I have all my stuff figured out! Have you had to consult with your teacher, and are you assigned only one? Are they patient and knowledgeable? Thanks -it would be cool to be able to compare notes, although I may be a bit behind you as you have started before me. I was looking on the medtranscript community and a couple of people there were saying to take your time with schooling because many companies won't hire a person unless they have spent more than 5 or 6 months with their schooling. I have kind of a boring journal and don't write as much as I would like, but if you want to be friends that would be great.
Hey Stephanie,I just signed up and payed for the Tier 1 Premier Program for M-TEC! So now we can keep in touch and mail each other! My ex-husband payed for it through the website, so he was the one who had to put all of my information in. He was saying something about choosing classes, and then they send the books to you. I thought that they would just send everything at once, and then you followed whatever their course outline was. Do you actually get to choose what classes you learn as you go along? That would be nice. Anyway, I was going to list you as a friend. If you like you can list me as one of your friends! ~Tricia
