Well, a good portion of it was from when I was younger, because my sisters were in dance competitions and they went to national championships and stuff like that, and I went along with.
Wow, when you told me that time about how you've been all over the country and still liked Chicago best, you really meant that literally! My map is dumb...I only counted states that I've set foot in (not flew over or drove past) and all I had was the interconnected Wisconsin and Illinois, and the interconnected New York - New Jersey - Pennsylvania - Vermont. I'm a bit surprised you've never been up to Minnesota. I hear it's pretty nice there in Minneapolis.

I haven't really met many Minnesotans.....Anders is from Minnesota here and he has a distinctive voice that sounds entirely Midwestern, but that doesn't really count in this situation. My English teacher during Freshman year in HS (who liked the Smiths a lot) was from Illinois. After her class, I just always associated an Illinois accent to just be proper unaccented English (kind of an oxymoron to call any speech unaccented, tho).Wisconsin accents are fun. I wish more people here had them. Coach for couch, ale-ice for alice, bubbler for water fountain (east coasters get it all wrong)
